About Us

Sweeney’s Opticians are celebrating over 70 years in business in Sligo town. Opened in 1944 by the Sweeney family, the newly refurbished practice is now under the management of Optometrist Martha Ward, F.A.O.I.

Sweeney’s Opticians has always been held in high esteem and it is our intention to uphold and consolidate the high professional standards in Sligo town. Sweeney’s Opticians ethos has always been about vision care and personal quality service.

Our up to date state of the art equipment allows us to carry out a full eye health check with a much greater degree of efficiency and reliability. Today the eye examination is more about eye health. Many eye diseases can be detected at the back of the eye with the use of this technology.
